Privacy Policy
Effective date: 19 August 2026
Wandering Sol Pty Ltd (ABN 46 630 407 582), trading as Wandering Sol ("Wandering Sol", "we", "us" or "our"), respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information when you visit www.wanderingsolco.com, create an account, contact us, join our mailing list, interact with our advertising or social channels, or buy from us.
We aim to handle personal information consistently with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply, and other applicable privacy, marketing and consumer laws.
1. Personal information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- identity and contact details, such as your name, email address, telephone number, billing address, delivery address and account details;
- transaction details, such as products viewed or purchased, order value, payment status, discounts, returns, refunds and delivery information;
- communications and content you provide, including customer-service enquiries, chat messages, review content, survey responses and other correspondence;
- marketing preferences, subscription status, consent records and interactions with our emails;
- technical and usage information, such as IP address, device and browser information, cookie or pixel identifiers, approximate location, referral source, pages viewed and interactions with our storefront, cart and checkout; and
- information needed to prevent fraud, secure our store, comply with law and protect our rights.
We do not ordinarily collect sensitive information. Please do not send us sensitive information unless it is reasonably necessary for us to assist you and you consent to us handling it.
2. How we collect personal information
We collect personal information directly from you when you place an order, create or use a customer account, subscribe to marketing, submit a form, contact us, use chat, leave a review or otherwise interact with us. We may also collect information automatically through Shopify and permitted cookies, pixels and similar technologies, and receive information from service providers, payment providers, delivery providers, social and advertising platforms, or another person authorised to act for you.
If you provide personal information about another person, such as a gift recipient or delivery contact, please make sure you are authorised to do so and that the information is accurate.
3. Why we collect, use and disclose personal information
We may handle personal information to:
- provide our online store, customer accounts, products and services;
- process payments, orders, pre-orders, deliveries, returns, refunds and customer-service requests;
- communicate with you about an order, account, product, service or enquiry;
- send marketing that you have requested or consented to receive, and manage subscriptions and suppression records;
- display and manage customer reviews and operate storefront chat;
- understand and improve our website, products, communications and customer experience;
- measure marketing and advertising performance and, where permitted by your consent choices, personalise or deliver advertising;
- detect, investigate and prevent fraud, misuse and security incidents;
- maintain business, accounting, tax, consent and legal records; and
- comply with law, enforce our terms and protect our customers, business and legal rights.
We use or disclose personal information for the purpose for which it was collected, a related purpose you would reasonably expect, a purpose you have consented to, or another purpose permitted or required by law.
4. Shopify and customer accounts
Our store is hosted by Shopify. Shopify provides our ecommerce platform, checkout, customer accounts, store security, fraud prevention and related services. Shopify may process your personal information for these purposes in accordance with its privacy documentation. You can read Shopify's Consumer Privacy Policy.
We use Shopify Network Intelligence. Where consent is required, non-essential uses of device and interaction data for analytics, personalisation or advertising are controlled through Shopify's customer privacy settings and your cookie preferences.
5. Payments, fulfilment and business service providers
Payments are processed by Shopify and the payment method you choose. We do not receive or store your complete payment-card number. Payment providers may receive payment, transaction, device and fraud-prevention information under their own privacy policies.
We disclose the information reasonably necessary to fulfil and deliver orders to service providers such as Australia Post and Sendle and, where needed, other carriers or fulfilment providers shown during the order process. This may include your name, delivery address, telephone number, email address, order reference and parcel details.
We may also use professional, technical, security, accounting and operational providers that process personal information only as reasonably necessary to provide their services to us or as otherwise permitted by law.
6. Email marketing and Klaviyo
We use Klaviyo to manage email sign-up forms, subscriber profiles, consent records, email communications and related reporting. If you subscribe, we may use your contact details, subscription source, profile preferences and email interactions to send and improve relevant Wandering Sol communications.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in an email or by contacting us. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop service messages that are necessary for an order, account or customer-service request. We retain a minimal suppression record where necessary to honour an unsubscribe.
Our sign-up forms may remain available so that you can make an affirmative subscription choice even when optional tracking is declined. Non-essential behavioural tracking is subject to your cookie and consent choices where required.
7. Cookies, analytics, advertising and social platforms
We use cookies, pixels and similar technologies to operate the store, remember preferences, keep the cart and checkout secure, understand site use and measure or deliver advertising. These technologies may collect device, browser, IP address, cookie or advertising identifiers, approximate location and information about interactions with our store.
Required technologies operate because they are necessary for the storefront, checkout, security and services you request. Analytics, marketing and personalisation technologies are disabled until affirmative consent where required by our settings and applicable law. You can accept, decline or manage optional categories through our cookie banner and can change your choice later using the Cookie preferences link in the site footer.
Subject to your consent choices, we use:
- Google Analytics 4, connected through Shopify's official Google & YouTube app, to understand website and commerce activity;
- Meta Pixel, connected through Shopify's official Facebook & Instagram integration, to measure advertising and improve campaign relevance;
- Pinterest, connected through Shopify's official Pinterest integration, for catalogue, advertising and measurement functions; and
- Shopify analytics and Network Intelligence to operate, secure, analyse and improve the store and, where permitted, support personalisation and advertising measurement.
We also use Judge.me to display and manage customer reviews. Reviews may remain visible without optional tracking; any non-essential analytics associated with reviews is subject to applicable consent choices.
We do not sell personal information for money. Some privacy laws may treat certain advertising-related disclosures as "sharing", "targeted advertising" or a "sale". Where applicable, you can exercise relevant choices through our cookie controls, Shopify privacy controls or the relevant platform's controls. Browser-based opt-out signals are handled where supported by Shopify and applicable law.
If you follow a link to Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest or another third-party service, that service will handle your activity under its own privacy policy.
8. Customer reviews and chat
We use Judge.me to collect, moderate and display customer reviews. If you submit a review, the review, display name and product relationship you provide may be published. Please do not include information in a public review that you do not want others to see.
We use Shopify Inbox for storefront chat. We may collect your message, contact details and relevant order or browsing context so that we can respond and provide customer service. Chat records may be linked to an order or customer account when reasonably necessary.
9. Overseas processing and disclosure
Some of our service providers operate or store information outside Australia. Personal information is likely to be processed or disclosed in the United States, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and countries in the European Economic Area. Providers may also use infrastructure or subprocessors in other locations identified in their privacy documentation.
Where Australian privacy law applies, we take reasonable steps appropriate to the circumstances to protect personal information handled by overseas service providers. Overseas recipients may also be subject to the laws of their own country.
10. Security and data breaches
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These measures include access controls, reputable service providers and secure Shopify-hosted checkout and account systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
We assess and respond to suspected data breaches and make notifications where required by applicable law.
11. Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, to meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements. Our current internal retention approach is:
- transaction, accounting and ordinary tax records: at least five years, or longer where legally required;
- customer-service and returns correspondence: two years after resolution, unless required for an active dispute, an order record or a legal obligation;
- marketing profiles: while subscribed; after unsubscribing, only the minimum suppression record needed to honour the unsubscribe. We review inactive subscribed profiles after 24 months;
- analytics data: no more than 14 months where provider settings allow;
- chat records: two years after the last interaction, unless connected to an order, dispute or legal obligation; and
- consent records: five years.
When personal information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it, subject to technical limitations, backups and legal retention requirements.
12. Access, correction and privacy choices
You may request access to personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct inaccurate or out-of-date information. You may also ask questions about our handling of your information or request deletion where applicable. We may need to verify your identity and may refuse or limit a request where permitted by law, in which case we will explain the reason where required.
To make a request, contact our Privacy Officer using the details below. You do not have to use a particular form. You can also update some customer account details directly through your account.
Marketing preferences can be changed through the unsubscribe link in our emails. Cookie and tracking choices can be changed through the Cookie preferences link in the site footer. Platform-level advertising choices may also be available through Google, Meta and Pinterest.
13. Privacy questions and complaints
If you have a privacy question or believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact our Privacy Officer in writing and describe your concern. We will acknowledge and investigate the matter and aim to respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au.
14. Children
Our online store is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child without appropriate consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us inappropriately, please contact us.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our practices, services or legal obligations. The current version will be published on this page with its effective date. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
